BEAT THE WINTER BLUES: WEEK 3

Yup. It’s still winter.

In fact, even Punxsutawney Phil has told us not to get our hopes up for an early break from the season… he saw his shadow and here we go. 6 more weeks. (Side note: Is the ground hog thing not one of the weirdest thing we do as humans?)…

As winter continues, so do my blog entries on how to beat these winter blues and find happiness through the frost and snow. 

Introducing: the Power of Laughter

Yes, that's right. Laughter has been scientifically proven to have numerous benefits for your mental and physical health. It can boost your mood, reduce stress, and even improve your immune system!

So, how do you incorporate more laughter into your life during the winter months, or well, when you aren’t really finding anything all that funny? You can watch a funny movie, listen to a comedy podcast, or even read a hilarious book. You could also attend a stand-up comedy show, watch a comedy special (try Chelsea Handler’s new one). The key is to find what makes you laugh and do more of it.

But why stop there? You can also make laughter a part of your daily routine. Start your day with a silly joke or share a funny meme with your friends, send a funny video and encourage your friends to do the same. Surround yourself with people who bring joy and positivity into your life. Remember, laughter is contagious, and the more you have, the more you spread!

Winter can be a challenging season for many people, but with the right tools, you can beat the winter blues and thrive. Remember to take care of yourself, stay active, eat well, connect with loved ones, get creative and embrace the season. With these tips, you'll be well on your way to beating the winter blues and feeling your best all season long!
