Say “OH’ and Let it go

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” Charles R. Swindoll.

When I was a kid, if I fell off my bike, scraped my knee and started crying, my dad would say “Say Oh, and Let it Go”.

The “OH” - is a relaxing sigh. It is a moment inward. It is a realization. It is a step towards calm.

… and “let it go” - is you releasing the anxiety, stress and pain of the things outside of your control that is zapping you of your energy, causing anxiety and sitractinz your focus.

I cannot even tell you how much this statement has been useful in my life.

This simple statement allows for the space a person needs to be in the moment and feel all the feels… and then get back to life.

This is also particularly helpful when the moments we can’t control in our everyday lives cause us anxiety, grief, or unnecessary stress.

You can have your moments of reflection, but it is important in the moments to develop a practice that builds on the simple principle that….

The only thing you can control, is your reaction.

The words are much easier said than practiced, but can transform your life when you dedicate yourself to them. Learning to separate ourselves from what happens to us and beginning to see how we respond to it is the best gift you can give yourself.

Turn inward, babe.

You are on the ride of LIFE, and you cannot control the traffic, speed bumps or crossroads along the way.

Try to enjoy the scenery and the ride.
