August’s Books
My mother always used to say, “Reading is knowledge, and knowledge is power”. She tells me she came up with that, but I am pretty sure it is a popular quote used by many. However, let’s give her it. Another one I love:
Marcus Tullius Cicero (a Roman writer, speaker, philosopher and politician) once said, “A room without books is like a body without a soul”. Wow. Right?
I love reading. And when I don’t have time or am on the go, I also love Audible for their Audio selection of books. I try to at least get through 2 books a month, but I am not hard on myself if I don’t make it each month, as long as I find time for learning something new.
August, however, was a productive reading month ~ and I’d love to share with you what was on my bookshelf to wrap up the balmy summer with.

French Women Don’t Get Facelifts
by Mireille Guillano
This book really resonated with me. Like most women, I love the romance of french effortless chic style, and I am always interested in learning a beauty secret or two! What I loved about this book is that it echoed what I always say, beauty starts from within: health, wellness, nutrition and of course, confidence! That is really where beauty originates. I feel that we are so quick to jump into spending time and money at clinics for injectables but we can be so frivolous with our diet and lifestyle. When, at the core, that is what dictates what happens on your exterior! Also, aging is beautiful and should be celebrated, especially amongst us ladies. There is enough pressure out there that we need to learn to tune out, and instead, turn inward and start loving our awesome uniqueness. Beyond all this, the book shares so many fun beauty secrets and style tips, that I have already started updating my closet and reorganizing with stylish and classic basics.
I hope you enjoy! For a full list of my reads, I add them weekly on Goodreads, and I always add links into my Amazon page, should you wish to easily click and purchase or preview to see if you’d be interested as well.
Happy reading 💕
