start by changing your attitude
You always have the power for change. It may not be the grand change you see in your minds eye at this very moment, but you own your attitude and outlook.
How you react and where you place your time, energy and focus - is wholly and fully up to you.
So if you find yourself today in a situation where you aren’t quite sure how to make lasting change for a more ideal outcome, start with your attitude and emotions.

For me, emotion is a verb (Grammar peeps, I realize that it is actually a noun. But hear me out…).
Emotion is the experience of energy through the body; energy IN MOTION.
What you focus on, YOU FUEL.
Before you roll your eyes and say “Here we go, Lauren”… there is proof I dug up 😉
🗣 “Thanks to the late great David Hawkins, MD, Ph.D., we have proof that emotions have measurable energy and can either foster or negate actual cell life. Dr. Hawkins’s groundbreaking work, as explained in his book Power vs. Force, shows how a person’s log level--the measurable energy level in their magnetic field--increases as that person experiences more positive emotions. Hawkins’s most interesting finding was that cells actually died when the log level was below 200, where the emotions of scorn, hate, anxiety, shame, regret, despair, blame, and humiliation reside.” - Read more on Forbes

Here are some simple ways I shift my emotions:
1. Awareness
Become aware of how you feel moment or how something makes you feel. Consider using a journal, or just taking a moment to feel it out. Learn the things that make you feel good or bad, and start to audit your life to make small changes for brighter days.
2. Music
Check out my “POWER UP PLAYLIST” on Spotify, made up of songs that I use to “change my state” (@TonyRobbins) or put me in a more pumped up place when my energy wanes. Add a few of your own, and use music to get into higher and more positive frequencies.
3. Long walks, meditation, or just plain ol’ quiet time
I talk about this a lot, but I think in various times in my life one or all of the above options have been game-changers in my mood, my healing, or my mental health. Even pre-dog, I loved a good, long walk. With or without music or a podcast, it was time alone with nature, my thoughts, and myself. It became a staple and a necessity. In time, I’ve also integrated various forms of meditation, and with my new Reiki studies (a topic for another day…) I am learning just how to sit quietly with myself, and listen to my body.
I cannot speak enough to how these simple things have changed my life, and I hope you can find ways to integrate one or all of them into your days.
