For the love of Monday

What if Mondays were no longer associated with dread and stress but instead were seen as an opportunity to get things done and accomplish more by being proactive about your goals? What would happen then? Would you smile more? Would you be nicer? Would you feel better about yourself and your workweek?

You would. YOU WOULD.

And I want to help you change your mindset so you too can be set free of the Sunday Scaries, and launch into each week with a smile. 😁

Here are some benefits of changing your mindset:

  • You will feel happier and more productive.

  • You will be more creative and innovative.

  • You will achieve your goals faster because you are not focused on negative thoughts or habits that stop you from reaching those goals.

Need some simple ways you can start to reframe your thinking, and enjoy the start to the week? I got you 🤜. Keep on reading, friends:

  1. Wake up earlier

With more time in the mornings, we allows ourselves the great gift of easing into the day. Taking the necessary “you-time” to celebrate yourself with affirmations, journaling, gratefulness, stretching, and a long, delicious and enjoyable, coffee.

Rushing causes stress.
Stress & anxiety go hand in hand.

For too many mornings, I’d wake up rushed. I’d wake up with my phone in my hand and prioritized emails over mental health. I’d take my coffee on the road, rush out without so much as 2 words to my partner, not even notice the weather except to plan out what shoes to wear, and pray only that I had enough gas to get to the office and not have to stop to fill up… because honey, I didn’t even have time for that.

By living this way, I created MY OWN anxiety. I designed MY OWN stress. And it could’ve been easily avoided if I woke up just a wee bit earlier to take a bit of time for myself, my mindset, my environment.

By doing that, I am now a better person, I feel better about the day, I am happier when I settled into work, and I am a better person to everyone around me.

With just 15 minutes earlier on a Monday, and eventually you can increase this to 30 minutes, 1 hour, however you see fit, but I hope with the extra time, this can transform your day, as it has mine.

2. Gratefulness

Grab that journal, or just sit silently and think to yourself…

How lucky are we to wake up today?!
How beautiful is the sky this morning?!
How lucky that the shower turns on for our refreshing shower?!
How lucky we are to have someone in the house, or just a phone call away, who we love and who loves us?!

Simple things to be grateful for.
Big or small, we can all identify at least 3.
Anything.
Just recognizing what you have around you or inside you to be grateful for, and expressing that appreciation out loud or in a journal, will set you off to such a powerful and positive path to a brighter mindset.

Can you come up with at least 3 right now?
I know you can.
Say them out loud.
Scribble them down.

Be grateful for just being here. And being your awesome self.
That is a great place to start.

3. Affirmations

An affirmation is usually a sentence, a sentence of powerful words put together, like a positive statement, and this sentence is aimed to tap into your conscious and unconscious mind to motivate you, to challenge you, to push you to reach your full potential in life.

Here are some great ones to start with:

I am enough.

I am abundant energy.

I believe in my dreams, myself, and all that I am.

I love myself for who I am.

I create my own happiness.

My life is filled with abundance of goodness.

My challenges are actually opportunities.

I am beautiful just the way I am.

Look in the mirror, say them on a walk, say them in your car to work, say them after a zoom call, and say them aloud as many times as you need and until you believe them in your soul. 💫

They will change you from the inside out - and help you see what I see, that you are awesome and a blessing and a contribution to your community.
